Royal Caribbean has cancelled a 5-night western Caribbean cruise on its Mariner of the Seas ship due to maintenance work taking longer than expected. The vessel is currently in dry dock in Cadiz, Spain, for routine maintenance, including an upgrade to the pool deck and waterslides, new paint, propellor maintenance, and engine and hotel maintenance work. Guests booked on the April 1, 2023 cruise have been provided with options to rebook on another Royal Caribbean sailing or receive a full refund. The ship is expected to return to operation on April 6, 2023, with a 4-night western Caribbean cruise. Mariner of the Seas can accommodate up to 4,252 passengers and underwent a $120m refit in 2018.
